Head of Finance

As the Head of Finance of the company, you hold a key strategic role and influence greatly on the success of the company. You will be working directly with the CEO of the company and you will be a part of the strategic teams of the company making key decisions within the company. 


To be successful in this role means that you have a solid head for numbers but also you need to have general business skills from many areas to be able to contribute to the success of the entire company. The environment of the company and the company itself is constantly evolving and therefore you need to be able to handle stress well, be a good communicator and be flexible to adapt to the changes that are always there.


The focus of the position is to be the day-to-day financial leader in the company but more importantly to be a part of the strategic development of the business. We expect you to have fresh ideas on e.g. pricing models, invoicing models, cost structuring, analytics dashboards and transparent budgeting.

Role Focus

  • Take charge of the financial administrative responsibilities and work with our accounting firms across the globe with required monthly and annual reporting.
  • Be a part of the strategic decision-making teams of the company and build the company with them. 
  • With our Junior Business Controller, take charge of internal accounting with the most important areas being the margins we produce per warehouse and per sales unit, and including budgeting and forecasting of revenue and costs.
  • Take charge of our invoicing processes. Own the process and harmonize it across our global warehouse network and software services we provide. 
  • Ensure scalability in all financial models and operations of the company.


Your skills and background

  • 7-10 years of experience in financial positions
  • Higher level university degree in a business-related field
  • Leadership experience and a grasp for modern leadership principles
  • Ideally, experience from both small company and corporate levels. Experience in small companies is a must.
  • Sharp, analytical and accountable. A person we can trust to get the job done.
  • Know-how of Finnish accounting principles
  • OGOship is constantly changing. We need flexibility in thinking and readiness to change oneself and the way things have been done before. 
  • Spreadsheet mastery. We use mostly Google’s business suite but also support Microsoft’s tools
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • All e-commerce and logistics-related experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English
  • Great communication skills.
